Only a couple of days after Bertha came home there was a show reasonably near where we live. We had been to this before in Clara and been waved into the arena rather than the car park as
arriving in a pre-1990 car gains automatic exhibit status! We thought we would take Bertha and Clara this time...
Not bad for a combined mileage of 350,000 miles and a combined age of 67 years!
A couple of shots of the them when we returned home....
We had long been meaning to visit Goodwood House (free to Historic Houses Association members!) and we finally made it there on the last opening weekend of 2019. It was well worth it: the house and
the art and artefacts inside it are fantastic! One unexpected bonus is that you get to drive up part of the course of the Festival of Speed hillclimb - although at a rather more sedate pace...
On Christmas Day we went for our now-customary trip out and about - in Bertha, of course!
It's been a good year for Bertha: she is now in good shape both body-wise and engine-wise - although there is some more bodywork to come to fix some more rust and make the panels all match each other. She has a zero
plus running in miles engine which is running beautifully and we are all set for our New Year trip.
